Charities 2014 – 2015

Every year at the Dog Club’s Annual General Meeting we nominate two charities to receive the money of the club’s various fund raising activities.

For 2014 the charities were Animal Concern. An animal rescue and rehoming charity serving the West Cumbria area and the West Cumbria Society for the Blind. We have had a successful year for our charities, and despite only being a small club managed to raise over £1000, which has been split between the charities. We know the charities really appreciated the money and gave very moving thanks and told us more about the work they do. We are proud to have been able to help.

The money is primarily raised through our club events such as the companion show in October and the Agility show in August, which has a very successful book stall sale made so successful by the hard work of Betty. Last year we also hosted the wonderful Mary Ray with ticket proceeds going into the charity pot too.

So, a hearty thank you to all members who donate prizes and work hard to make our events a success and thank you to any members or the public who come to our events and take part.

For the coming year our charities were voted as Animal Concern and Hounds for Heroes.
