Hoopers

A dog playing Hoopers

Hoopers is a fun dog sport that originated in America and is fast gaining popularity over here in the UK. There are a couple of organisations involved in training and running competitions and there are also independents too. The basic rules will be very similar across the different groups.

As the name implies this is a ground sport that almost any dog can take part in. It is particularly useful for dogs who need low impact sports as it does not involve jumping or tight turns, so great for their joints! It involves running a course through a series of hoops, through short tunnels and chutes and around barrels.

Our classes are currently held at the Seascale Recreational Association field. We have students of various levels and the group is focused on fun and engagement with your dog. If the world of dog sports is new to you, our lovely qualified instructor Pam will make sure it all becomes clear!

Please contact hoopers@wldtc.co.uk for more information on starting Hoopers classes, or if you’d like to know information about events in the area.
